Trading
Trading between teams can be accomplished in numerous ways. Three of the most efficient ways to begin negotiating a trade with another team are as follows:
Go to the board entitled “Trade Block”. In this section, you can post the players you wish to trade and/or what types of players you are interested in trading for. Do not post trade offers on the message board.
Each GM can be reached by PM. This is a personal message sent by you to another GM via a PB's Fantasy Basketball messaging system. Only the GM you send it to can see this message and it acts as a great way to negotiate back and forth. Simply click on a GM's name and proceed to "Send Personal Message", and you can send a message easily.
Each GM is required to have Yahoo! Messenger (YIM). This is the preferred method of communication for all of PB's Fantasy Sports and its GMs. This last option is a requirement for participation in this league. YIM allows for quick and easy communication with the Commissioner’s Office and other GMs in our league. This requirement increases trade activity and overall activity in the league. It is very important for all GM's to communicate.
Trade Review Process
Trading can include any player, including players you hold the draft rights to, as well as draft picks, but cash and franchise/restricted tags cannot be exchanged in any transaction. Any trade negotiation that concludes in an agreement must be posted in the "Trade Review" board by both GM's. For a trade to be valid, both teams must state the proposed deal in full (players AND contracts), and that they have agreed to it. Once the trade has been posted and accepted by both GMs, the Commissioner's Office will review the trade. If after 24 hours there are no objections in the Commissioner's Office, the trade will be approved, but sometimes it could last longer as the commissioners could be in debate. If a majority of the commissioners find the trade to be unfair, it will be vetoed. Non-commissioners can also make an impact. If ten people vote to veto a trade, it will count as a vote within the commissioner's office and could sway a decision. To veto, send a PM to the "Trade Review" account.
Trading with New GMs
New GMs must be in the league seven days before making a trade. This allows new GMs to not be almost attacked by current GMs, and allows new GMs to get accustomed to the league and the rules.
Trading Deadline
The trading deadline for PB's Fantasy Basketball will be March 7th 11:59 PM PST. ALL trading can resume the day following the last real life NBA regular season game and may continue throughout the off-season (but you cannot trade players who have become free agents following the end of the season).
