NBA Rookie Draft A 1 round annual draft of rookies will be held following the 2009-10 season. The date the draft will start will be the second week of July. The draft order will be based on the inverse of the standings from the previous season, with the teams who fail to make the playoffs taking part in a draft lottery, like the NBA. All drafted player's salaries will likely be at the rookie scale and team's must consult Hoopsworld to find their players' contracts once they sign. This draft is for rookies only. All rookies who were drafted in July will be eligible to be drafted, along with any undrafted player. Draft picks may be traded, In addition, teams who lose restricted free agents will receive a supplemental draft pick after the first round. The order of the supplemental round will be determined by the contract the moving player receives; the higher the AAS, the higher the team picks in the supplemental round. If there is a tie of AAS, the team with the worse record will receive the higher pick. If the records are the same, then whoever head to head record will be consulted.
